The Famous Batata bhaji/Aloo Pakoda

Ingredients

1 cup Besan/chickpea flour.
2 Tbs rice flour.
1 to 1n1/4 Tsp Salt.
1/2 Tsp ajwain /carom seeds.
1 Tsp chilli powder.
1 Tsp Coriander Cumin powder.
1/2 Tsp turmeric/Haldi.
pinch of Baking soda(optional).
Oil to fry.
1 Medium Potato sliced.

Procedure

Mix Besan ,Rice flour and all the spices together.
Add water till the batter coats the spoon completely when dipped in it.
Add salt and mix.
Heat the oil on medium flame.
Put a drop of batter in the oil ,if it sizzles and rises then the oil is ready for frying.
Add pinch of soda and mix it..this makes the batter lighter.
Then take a slice of potato dip in the batter and slide it in the oil.(be careful oil will be very hot)
Follow the same procedure for the rest.Fry till golden brown.
