I can relate so much to this.Trying new recipes and Experimenting different things at home is so much fun!!My mom is a great cook and she has been inspiring me since childhood.She made N number of parathas and snacks which made my lunch box a big hit in school and college.. :p..Here are few recipes which I tried and few of my moms specialties...hope u like them and enjoy them as much as i do..

Dal Makhni.
Ingredients
1 cup Whole Urad Dal.
1/4 cup Rajma.
1 Dry Red Chilli.
2 Tomatoes.
1 tbs Ginger Garlic paste.
1 tbs Butter.
2-3 tbs sour Cream.
4-5 Cloves.
2 Bay leaves.
1 small stick cinnamon.
5-6 whole Black Pepper.
1 tsp Cumin seeds.
1 tbs Garam Masala.
1/2 tbs chilli powder.
1/2 tbs Kasoori Methi.
Salt.
Procedure
Soak The whole Urad Dal+Rajma+dry Red chilli overnight.
Then Pressure cook the soaked dal and rajma.(slightly overcook it,about 5 whistles).
Blanch the Tomatoes and puree them.
Put some oil in a pan.
Add the Butter.
Add the Cumin seeds and the Cloves , Bay leaves and Whole Black Pepper.
Add the Ginger Garlic Paste and saute till slightly browned.
Add the Tomato Puree.
Cook for 2-3 min.
Add the Garam Masala+Chilli powder and let it cook for 2-3 mins.
Add the cooked Dal and rajma.
Add Kasoori Methi.
Add salt as per taste.
Cook on low flame for 5-8 mins.
At last add the sour cream and switch off the burner after a minute.
